About

QikLife is the lifecasting community of dedicated users of the new Qik live streaming technology for mobile phones.

QikLife has several goals:

n To create a platform for Qik users to share their videos with a larger audience than just friends and family;

n To create a site to share best practices in the use of Qik, as well as portable phone cameras – i.e., techniques for getting the best results via proper framing, lighting, sound and subject matter.

n To offer ‘Qikkers’ a vehicle by which they can distribute important breaking news stories not only to other QikLive users, but also to the mainstream news media.

n Most of all, to recognize on a daily and weekly basis, the very best videos being produce by Qik users, including Qikkers who are also key figures in the blogosphere and other media.

QikLife believes that Qik is one of the most important new web-based communications, news and social networking technologies to appear on the scene in years. QikLife further believes that Qik has the potential to become part of the daily life of millions of users around the world – many of whom will want to share the results of their efforts with others, as well as learn to become more proficient with the technology.

QikLife intends to become the place where these millions of Qikkers visit one or more times each day to enjoy the best and most memorable videos created by their peers, to see events unfolding around the world in real time, and, on occasion, actually see history be made before their eyes.
