C-Span: Democratic Convention Location
August 19, 2008
Live feed from C-Span2, scouting the Denver location of next week’s Democratic Party Convention. Interesting to see the proximity of the convention center and the stadium where Obama will deliver his acceptance speech. And you just know the nearby amusement park, with its roller coaster, is going to be used as a metaphor by an endless number of reporters . . .

Football Practice
August 18, 2008
Where the hell is this? What university holds PRACTICES that draw this many fans? The Orange shirts, etc. suggests it may be Syracuse . . .which would figure, because those folks are nuts. But we may be wrong . . . I do like the part where the guy says, “These seats are taken” — leaving, what, about 48,000 other ones available?

Times Square
July 30, 2008

UFO?
July 30, 2008
Indian Qikker BeingTarak seems to have come up with a new use for Qik technology: capturing video images of ephemeral phenomena. Now, frankly, this just looks like a plane with wing lights but ooooooooooooooooooo you never know. Anyway, if you do happen to use your Qikked cellphone to capture that elusive image of the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot or Martians, try to also capture some surrounding geographic features in order to show context, scale, etc.

From a Lincoln Avenue Bar
July 6, 2008
Which Lincoln Avenue? We have no idea — that’s just the title “Nallstar” gave to it. One thing is for sure, the young lady in this Qik seems to be under the impression — or should we say ‘is intoxicated with the notion’ — that she actually has to speak loud enough that Qikkers around the world can actually hear her actual voice over the horizon . . .
